Early childhood, being the most impressionable stage, we take utmost care of the all-round development of our kids in the pre-primary section. Our curriculum for the toddlers is within the framework of highly individualized, child-friendly and age-appropriate classes.
A number of educational reforms in early childhood education have been built around the core value of child centered approach. A diversified learning environment facilitates the multiple learning intelligences of sensory, exploratory and experiential cognitive skills.
The six key learning areas of physical fitness & health, language, early mathematics, science & technology, self and society and the arts ensure that the children are well prepared for life-long learning.
Primary education, being the first stage of formal education, our endeavour is to constantly be multi-dimensional, with a broad-minded approach towards academic and extra-curricular learning. More importantly, we focus on nurturing the individual’s character and qualities of teamwork, sociability, creative-thinking and application-based learning.
Questioning and original thinking are two primary building blocks of this phase of a student’s education. We realize that if certain standards and parameters can be maintained during primary education, our youngsters are ready to grow and blossom in the fields and subjects of their choosing.
The focus lies on developing a thirst for knowledge, a learning temperament that invokes their innermost talents and resources to surface. We actively encourage parents to come forward at this stage to show interest and aid in the child’s learning, so that school learning is complemented with a nurturing, healthy environment at home.
Secondary schooling comprises the crucial years where a child inches towards self-identity. At the senior school level, we are entrusted with the humongous task of shaping a child’s personality - emotionally, physically, intellectually, spiritually as well as socially. By this age the child’s cognitive development has already started in terms of information processing, conceptual resources, perceptual skill, language learning, and other aspects. The right guidance at this age determines his / her personality for the rest of life. Therefore, the role of school in grade 5-10 is more of a facilitator and collaborator. Imparting education through stimulating tasks, projects, assignments, trainings and hands on experience. Innovation and disruption is the key features of classroom learning along with focus on skill development. Each and every child is given an opportunity to hone his / her skills in sports / dance & music / performing arts.
A team of highly qualified and experienced teachers strives to create a conducive environment for this purpose. In the lower years of secondary school, pupils follow a broad curriculum. And once they reach the higher years, we focus on preparing them to understand the requirements and expectations of the ICSE Certificate Examinations.
As a premier institution, we do our best to equip students with the aptitudes, attitude and skills required to excel in the times to come.
The pupils of Std. IX and X are prepared for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education Examination conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi. We have achieved cent-percent results over the years.
There are two combinations of subjects offered for the ICSE examination. Students can select any one combination
The main objective of a school is to facilitate learning. As educators it is important for teachers to create an environment that will facilitate this learning process so that students become life long learners.
The school follows continuous comprehensive evaluation technique (CCE). As a part of this technique students are assessed on various parameters such as orals, aural, class test, internal assessment, project work etc. this pattern is followed from class I to VIII.
The CCE pattern helps students in scoring through all the above stated techniques and not only through a formal examination pattern. As part of this technique marks are replaced by grades. The school follows two term examination patterns.
The House System at school consists of four houses, namely, Tilak House (Red), Shashtri House (Green), Bose House (Yellow) and Gandhi House (Blue). The House System helps children to learn the value of teamwork and good behaviour. Each student is placed in a house. Older students are given the responsibility to serve as House Captains. Throughout the year, students receive points which contribute to the house competitions. Students are awarded house points for academic excellence, good behaviour, good work, in-house competitions, inter-school competitions and sports events. The house system provides a sense of identity and pride in a supportive environment. The four houses have been named after some of the greatest Indian leaders with an aim to reflect the core values these leaders stood for.
